Yes, I'm still here

I know, I'm a slacker blogger!! I always think I'm going to just do it....and then I don't. I'm still here. Still reading everyone else's blogs I promise!! Things have been rather hectic in my life...but I'm still kickin'.

This is Donia and Mark Corbett. The picture was taken when Donia came back to visit in February of 2008. We went to the bowling alley and hung out with Mark and his wife Liz. It was a fun time actually. There were just a few of us, but it was nice to hang out.

That was also the night that I slipped and fell on some ice outside of Liz's mom's house. I landed on my elbow. I thought I broke my arm actually. It swelled to at least twice its normal size and hurt for a long time afterwards. In fact, it took months for it to feel semi-normal. I also had to run home and change my clothes before we went to the bowling alley, because when I fell it was on ice, but I got totally soaked on my pants. Long story short, I didn't bowl that night because of the arm feeling crappy, and I drank a little alcohol to help ease the pain (just a 'lil). :-)

Day 17

2. my family in OKC missing the big tornado by MINUTES and half of a mile. SCARY. Literally, my grandma went through an intersection mere minutes before it hit, which was also half a mile from the place where my great-grandma was in her nursing home facility.

3. my dogs letting me sleep ALL through the night. This is something that happens once every month, maybe. That's enough to make me to feel very optimistic that it's going to be a great day!!

4. 24 days until my Spring Break Cruise!!!!

5. Waking up and realizing my dream was just that, a dream. It wasn't true and thank God for that!! :(

1. silly things kids say. I should seriously start writing them down, in fact I think I'm going to, starting now. Today a kid was telling me that another student moved. He said, "I'm pretty sure she moved to Blossomfield." The town is actually Bloomfield. teehee, haha.

Superbowl Grace (I'm not watching the game, can you tell?)

1. Looking for one thing and finding another....I've been looking for a CD with pictures on it from our visit to New Orleans a couple of months after Hurricane Katrina. I had pretty much given them up for lost and was pretty sad about it, WHEN, I found them today while looking at work for my hot glue gun (of all things).

3. giving things to other people-I love the look on someone's face when you give them something whether big or small. I usually spend way more than I should on gifts, but, for me there is great joy in giving.

5. my sister-she's not a small grace, but one I am thankful for everyday. She is such a brave, independent young woman. I envy her in so many ways. Although we are almost totally opposite one another in practically every way, we get along pretty well and I enjoy her company. I am also extremely proud of the woman that she is becoming. She sets her own path and makes her own decisions, and for that I super proud to call her my sister.

Lazy Day Grace

1. Sleeping in!! (til 11:30 today) I can't wait to have a family, especially a baby. However, I know that selfishly, that will essentially be the end of my sleeping in days-unless I am lucky enough to have a baby like I was (one that would sleep til 11 am when she was 6 months old). For now, I will cherish the fact that I can still sleep in when I want to, and one of these days I will have a part of my life that will neccesitate that I don't.

4. grace in the small things-it has really helped me change my perspective on things. Instead of thinking about the negatives I can blog about, I am always looking on the positive side of life.
