Ok, so we drove and drove and drove and we eventually landed in Galveston, TX. Even though I lived in Texas for almost five years, I never really went south of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. So it was fun visiting a place I had never been. I wish that we could have had a little more time there either before or after the cruise. We did get to spend an evening there though, so that was nice. We got to Galveston early evening and got settled into our hotel. Our friends from Oklahoma had some travel vouchers that they needed to use, so we got our ocean side balcony hotel rooms for FREE, WOO HOO!!!!

After we got settled we walked across Sea Wall Blvd to the ocean and splashed around for a while. It was cool to see all the people just swimming and splashing around in the ocean even though it was almost night time.
Then we ate at The Spot. It is a biker bar/restaurant that we have been watching on webcam for the last year or so. We were so excited to go there but weren't sure what to expect. It totally exceeded our expectations!! The food was AWESOME and the ambiance was so laid back. We sat on the deck and ate outside right across from the ocean. We could watch the moon come up while eating and watching all the people enjoying themselves. We even had our friends check us out on the webcam, and that was really fun!! We felt like celebrities! Hehe
We headed back to the hotel and went to bed (though I don't think ANY of us slept very well, since we had such a BIG day ahead of us!!!!)
