Having never been a dog person, I can't really believe I am about to say this, but I can't imagine my life without my dogs. They have been such a source of joy in my life. I can always count on them to make me smile, laugh out loud, or even just feel happier. They also, have been a neverending source of dirt on my floors!! I always brag about Yorkies, about how they are the "hypoallergenic dog" and they never shed, EVER (which is all well and good). But they are also so damn close to the ground that they bring in every little piece of everything that their bellies brush up against...dirt, grass, bark, paper, ticks (ew), mulch-Leo's REALLY good at that one, and whatever else happens to be in their way while they barrel through life.
And when I say barrel through life I am not kidding. Not many have been over to see the voracity that Leo has with everything that he does. He never just walks anywhere! I can always cheer myself up to watch him run or try to jump on the furniture, he is such a lumbering goof ball.
What is especially fun is to see them both when they just come out of their rooms (aka kennels). They have a system, do the same thing everyday. It's like a dance that they do and they both have their places on the dance floor. They are always so excited to see me and want to just jump up and down, but have to do it half way, so as not to pee all over the floor. And Leo wants Yankee to so badly just play, play, play!!! But all Yankee wants to do is PEE!!!! They both RUNNNNNN to the back door (with one loop around the coffee table for good measure) and then just wait wait wait for me to make it there to let them out.
Anyway, I could tell funny stories all day about these goofballs, but really as I go back and read my post, it's not all that funny, I guess you have to be here to see them do these things. Well, I am a dog person and I am so thankful that these guys are mine, without them I know that my baby fever would be raging!!!!!!
Leo when he was a couple of days new in our house: (he has grown into his head since)
One of my ABSOLUTE favorite pictures from Leo's very first day with us. He loves his little friend H, and she loves him:
